Whether you are buying your first home, using your VA benefit, refinancing, relocating, or comparing loan options, the goal is the same: clear numbers, clean communication, and a loan structure that actually fits your situation.
A plain-English path from "can I even do this?" to keys in hand, with every cost named up front.
PCS timelines, entitlement, funding fees, and BAH handled by someone who has lived the military side.
Selling and buying at once, with the timing and the numbers structured so the two sides line up.
Rate-and-term or cash-out, run honestly, so we only move when it actually helps you.
A lender who reviews files seriously, communicates directly, and surfaces problems early.
Side-by-side loan comparisons before you write an offer, so the decision is informed.
Military and VA loans are a specialty. They are not the limit of what I do.
A rate quote is not a mortgage strategy. I help clients compare loan type, payment, cash to close, seller credits, points, lender options, timing, and long-term cost before they make decisions.
I compare multiple lender options instead of forcing your file into one bank's box.
You work directly with me, not a call center or a rotating queue.
You will understand payment, cash to close, and the tradeoffs before moving forward.
If there is an issue, I want it found early, explained clearly, and solved before it becomes a closing problem.
The first home is the one with the most questions and the fewest people willing to slow down and answer them. I will. No jargon, no rushing, just a clear path from understanding what you can afford to keys in hand.
From understanding what you can afford to keys in hand. The download starts right away, and I'll follow up personally.
When I work with your buyer, I want you to know three things early: whether the file has been reviewed, what the buyer can actually afford, and what could create issues before closing. If there is a problem, you will hear it early. If there is a way to solve it, we will work the file.
VA loans are not just another product menu item. PCS timelines, BAH, entitlement, funding fees, disability exemption, seller credits, and military income all affect the way a file should be structured. I help military buyers and veterans understand the benefit, compare the options, and avoid lazy answers.
VA loans are a specialty. They are not the only loans I handle.
Take the self-check for a sense of your VA picture in about a minute. It's a starting point, not an official determination. See the full breakdown on my VA loans page, or just call Haldeman.
I graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 2015 and spent the next decade as an officer, much of it in the nation's nuclear weapons operations and maintenance, leading work where precision, accountability, and communication were never optional. I helped build and maintain some of the most complex systems in the world, where a missed detail was the one thing the job could not allow.
I still serve today in the Air National Guard as an aircraft maintenance officer. When I moved into mortgages, I brought that same approach with me. Buying or refinancing a home is one of the largest financial decisions most people ever make, and it deserves someone who treats the file with real care instead of pushing it through a machine.
My work is focused on helping buyers, homeowners, military families, and real estate agents structure the right loan, understand the numbers, and move through the process with confidence. You get the same explanation I would give you over the phone: plain English, with anything technical explained as we go.
When I'm not working on mortgages, I'm usually spending time outdoors with my wife and our two sons.
To help buyers understand the mortgage mechanics, structure the right loan, and move through the process with clear numbers, direct communication, and fewer surprises.
Let's get the numbers clear.

You do not need to fill out a full application just to ask a smart mortgage question. Send me a scenario, schedule a short call, or start the pre-approval process when you're ready. Not ready to apply yet? Good. Send me the scenario and I'll help you understand the cleanest next step.
Under 20% down adds PMI until you reach 20% equity.
VA loans require no PMI. A one-time funding fee is usually added to the loan.
Many veterans with a service-connected disability are exempt.
SC average is about 0.53% of value.
Applied only while under 20% equity.
Adding a little to principal each month is the highest-return move most buyers never make. Early payments are almost all interest, so even a small amount paid early has outsized impact.
